I’ve been in your shoes in the past, seeking to find help from a Christian counselor – yet all I found were people who relied on their label as a Christian and their knowledge of science to counsel. This led me to strive to be more, with God’s help. Through my professional training, I sought to find out how the Bible informs our mental health and psychological well-being so I could give my clients a solid foundation of truth to use against any of their mental health and relational challenges. I bring this knowledge into each session, allowing His truths to provide real, lasting healing.
Huntington Beach – Mon & Wed
Online Counseling – Mon & Wed
I want to help as many people as I can find their blessed assurance of salvation and bridge the gap between their spiritual and emotional lives. My desire is for you to find freedom in loving God with all of your heart, mind, soul, and strength. Through our time together, I will also work to help you pursue peace and unity with others. I offer counseling for children, teens, adult individuals, couples, families, and groups. With empathy and open communication, I will work with you to find lasting solutions to the problems you face.
My Goal as a Christian Counselor
My goal is to serve you with humility and respect for the Holy Spirit’s work in your life. Through our sessions, my hope is that you will gain the ability to understand the truth pillars that will stand the test of time and hold up through trials. We will work together to help you develop replacement habits to balance your life and provide stability, peace, and joy no matter the circumstances.
What I Offer in Christian Counseling
I will partner with you, taking what you bring to a session and helping you break it into themes or patterns that we can address one by one. As my client, you can expect me to be open and direct. I strive to use compassion and understanding to help you find God’s truth so your relationships with God, yourself, and others can be stabilized and heal.
My Approach to Christian Counseling
With Christ, there’s so much more power in the work that is done. Using biblical wisdom goes deeper to the heart of the issue, reaches farther, and provides longer lasting results than basic psychology. That being said, I’ve used the Bible to understand psychology as both a student and a practitioner. I’ve discovered the distinct differences and the complete complement of the two (the science of psychology and the Bible). My faith is established on the truth that God alone offers wisdom and goodness. I believe what people need most are light and truth, and that is what I work to help them find (whether it be a simple step toward truth or a full deep dive into practicing faith).
Qualifications & Experience
I hold an MA in Clinical Psychology from Azusa Pacific University and a BA in Psychology with a minor in Biblical Studies from Biola University. I’ve trained in colleges, continuing education programs, K-12 schools, and a private Christian practice. I’ve worked with children, adolescents, adults, families, and couples. Prior to entering my Master’s program, I worked in a Level 14 group home for dual-diagnosed children ages 10-19.
My Call to Christian Counseling
I have had a passion for people and helping them find a balanced narrative ever since high school. This developed into a desire to support the church by helping the congregation and staff grow stronger during difficult times. Knowing pastoral staff have a lot of duties, I wanted to partner with them to support the counseling needs within the body. So, I pursued a Master’s degree to build up my own skills in counseling and serve Christians by walking alongside them during their trials.
More About Me/On a Personal Note
I love books for encouragement and to get me thinking. Outdoor time with my family and exploring nature has been growing on me. I like to create through cooking and connect with others through prayer and hosting gatherings.
